UWO Pre-Optometry Club 2022-2023:Mission Statement:I. To increase awareness, appreciation, and interest in the optometry profession.II. To create an inclusive atmosphere where students feel comfortable to ask questions and receive support.III. To provide members with opportunities to volunteer within their community.IV. To share knowledge on the application process and academic requirements for optometry schools across North America.Available Positions and Responsibilities: 1st Year Representative – Positions available: 11. Promote UWO Pre-Optometry Club events to first years, especially through first year class pages2. Assist executive team with internal affairs, if necessary3. Attend all executive meetings to take minutes of our monthly meetingsFinance Coordinator – Positions available: 11. Cooperate with VP Finance to oversee all financial dealings of the club2. Organize a yearly budget according to USC finance regulations3. Work closely with events team to plan club programs, activities and events within theallocated budget4. Promote upcoming eventsEvents Coordinator – Positions available: 11. Assist the VP Events with venue-booking2. Coordinate with executive team to develop proposals for upcoming events3. Establish and maintain a professional and positive relationship with local volunteerorganizations4. Promote upcoming eventsCommunications Coordinator – Positions available: 11. Assist with recruitment of previous and new members of the club at-large 2. Update UWO Pre-Optometry?s website and various social media outlets (Facebook, Instagram) to engage members in upcoming events3. Attend general meetings and all executive meetings, and contribute to group discussions4. Promote upcoming eventsGraphics Designer – Positions available: 11. Assist the VP Communications and VP Events to design Facebook banners, posters, and graphics for upcoming events2. Designs must be aesthetically pleasing and eye-catching with the relevant information provided by the Events committee3. Attend general meetings and all executive meetings, and contribute to group discussions4. Promote upcoming eventsAcademic Coordinator – Positions available: 11. Become a mentor for students interested in optometry2. Be well aware and knowledgeable about the optometry school application process3. Assist students interested in optometry with personal questions regarding the field4. Attend general meetings and all executive meetings, and contribute to group discussions5. Promote upcoming events
